Real Estate Investing : coastal areas

BY Leo Love

Hi, welcome to my site.
Today I caught up with an old work mate. He and his wife had shifted away to the coast, when he had left his job three years ago. They bought a house in a nice coastal area that is a popular fishing and diving spot.
Over the two years that they lived there they would travel back to see family and friends about 2/3 times per year. But over time they were missing their children, so they decided to move back. They had sold their original home, so now they were getting set up to build a new home to live in.
As we were talking it came up in the conversation how they had loved the coastal property and the climate there. It was an ideal place to live. I started to think to myself what a shame to have to sell such a good real estate investing property in a coastal location. Then they said that they had kept the coastal property. It was rented out and they would go back when the children were older. It turns out the coastal property was near a capital city and had enjoyed a huge capital growth.
The capital growth was so good, they were able to borrow against it and use it to build their new home. By buying in a good area they were able to capitalize on the growth and now they will have two properties.
What I liked about their situation was that they had achieved something (And they didn't know it) that all real estate investors set out to achieve. That is to create wealth from real estate investing. This couple had done it without really knowing it.
To your investing success
